I must admit that I read that quote and at first it’s like “what?”. But I think it’s quite straightforward really - refuse to be anything less than your best or to hold yourself in anyway except the best way possible at all times, refuse to forgo charm or a sense of dignity and style, and you’ll be looking somewhere close to elegant, if not elegance itself.
